In the Summer of 2020, I took a roadtrip from New York to San Diego with some friends who were moving away. We camped in a tent, took turns driving, and washed our hair by heating water over the fire. For two weeks, we got away, escaping the heat of the pandemic and wildfires raging around us. It was a rare and special time, so we captured the trip on film and made a video to seal the experience in our memory. As a final touch, I made title cards inspired by western films to narrate our checkpoints throughout.
